Above is a screen shot of a Microsoft Excel based spreadsheet I created to efficiently pack shipping containers from Asia. The Container Builder maximizes product-shipping quantity taking in account all shipping variables. The user only enters the desired quantity of items and the Container Builder automatically calculates the size container needed. I created this spread sheet with ease of use in mind. Time was spent to reduce the number of input fields to the minimum to eliminate any possibility of errors. Even though the Container Builder was designed for Production it was quickly adopted by Sales. A subsequent upgrade added for Sales automatically “filled” containers based on percent mix of order entered. For example: if a dealer ordered a mix of items that only filled a 40ft container to 88% the Container Builder would automatically suggest item quantities to fill a container while still keeping the same product percentage mix. The Container Builder quickly proved itself to be a valuable tool for both Production and for Sales. There is no reason to ship air.
